- The Promoter may reject or remove any entry that it reasonably considers does not comply with these Terms and Conditions.
- The content, detail, creativity or perceived quality of an entry will not affect its chance of being randomly selected, provided the entry satisfies the requirements in these Terms and Conditions.
6. Random prize draw
- This competition is a game of chance. Skill does not determine the winner.
- Each valid entry received during the Competition Period will be entered once into the random prize draw and will have an equal chance of winning.
- The random prize draw will take place at 12:00 noon AEST on Friday, 2 October 2026 at Hammerton Jewellers, 55 Langtree Mall, Mildura VIC 3500.
- The draw will be conducted using a computerised random-selection process under the supervision of a representative of the Promoter.
- The first valid and eligible entry randomly selected will be the provisional winner, subject to verification under these Terms and Conditions.
- Entrants do not need to be present at the draw.
- The Promoter will keep the records required by applicable Victorian law, including accurate records relating to entries, the conduct of the draw and distribution of the prize.
7. Winner notification and publication
- The provisional winner will be notified in writing by email, using the email address supplied with their entry, within two business days after the draw.
- The Promoter may also contact the provisional winner by telephone.
- The provisional winner must respond, confirm their acceptance of the prize and provide any reasonably requested eligibility verification within seven days after notification.
- The winner’s name will be published at www.hammertons.com.au/pages/my-dream-ring-competition on or before Friday, 9 October 2026.
- The winner’s name will remain published online for at least 28 days.
- By accepting the prize, the winner consents to publication of their name as required by Victorian law.
- If the provisional winner:
a. cannot be identified or contacted after reasonable attempts;
b. does not respond within the required time;
c. does not provide reasonably requested verification;
d. is found to be ineligible;
e. has breached these Terms and Conditions; or
f. declines the prize,
the Promoter may withdraw the prize and conduct a replacement draw from the remaining valid entries.
- If required, the replacement draw will take place at 12:00 noon AEDT on Monday, 12 October 2026 at Hammerton Jewellers, 55 Langtree Mall, Mildura VIC 3500, using the same random-selection process as the original draw.
- The replacement winner will be notified in writing within two business days after the replacement draw.
- The replacement winner’s name will be published on the competition webpage within seven days after the replacement draw and will remain published for at least 28 days.
8. Prize
- There is one prize only.
- The prize is the custom design, manufacture and supply by Hammerton Jewellers of one ring based on the winning entrant’s submitted dream-ring design.
- The prize has a maximum retail value of AUD $5,000 including GST.
- The prize applies only to the dream-ring concept submitted in the winner’s competition entry. It cannot be exchanged for a different or unrelated ring, jewellery item, product or service.
- The $5,000 amount is a maximum retail value, not a cash allowance, spending credit or account balance.
- The prize is personal to the winner and:
a. is not transferable;
b. is not exchangeable;
c. cannot be redeemed for cash, store credit, a gift card or another product or service;
d. cannot be sold or assigned before it is supplied;
e. cannot be applied to an existing purchase, order, lay-by, repair, account or outstanding balance; and
f. cannot be divided between multiple products or people.
- If the final ring has a retail value of less than $5,000, the winner will not receive the difference in cash, credit, additional jewellery, gemstones, services or any other form.
- Unless the Promoter separately agrees in writing, the winner cannot contribute additional money to increase the value or specification of the prize above $5,000.
- The stated prize value is the Promoter’s reasonable retail valuation at the time the prize is awarded. Actual component values may vary because of changes in gemstone, precious-metal, labour and supply costs.
9. Final design and manufacture
- The winning entry is a design concept and may not constitute a production-ready jewellery design.
- The winner must participate reasonably and promptly in the Promoter’s customary consultation, design approval, ring-sizing and manufacturing processes.
- The winner must provide any information, decisions, measurements and approvals reasonably required by the Promoter within the time requested.
- The Promoter may reasonably adapt or refine the submitted design to:
a. keep the finished ring within the maximum prize value;
b. make the ring structurally sound, safe, wearable and capable of manufacture;
c. accommodate the winner’s ring size;
d. accommodate available gemstones, metals and components;
e. avoid infringing another person’s intellectual-property rights;
f. comply with applicable laws and industry requirements; or
g. address technical, ethical-sourcing or supply limitations.
- The final ring may therefore differ from sketches, descriptions, inspiration images or other material submitted with the winning entry.
- Computer renderings, drawings, photographs and gemstone images are illustrative. They may not precisely represent scale, dimensions, proportions, colour, reflections or the finished appearance of the ring.
- Natural gemstones and other natural materials may contain inclusions, colour variations and individual characteristics. Exact colours, markings, dimensions and appearances cannot be guaranteed.
- The Promoter will consult with the winner regarding any material modification and will provide the proposed final design for approval before manufacture.
- The winner must not unreasonably withhold or delay approval of changes required to make the ring safe, lawful, non-infringing, manufacturable and capable of completion within the maximum prize value.
- If the submitted design cannot reasonably be manufactured within the $5,000 maximum value, the Promoter will work with the winner to modify the design while preserving its essential character where reasonably possible.
- Modifications may include changes to gemstone type, gemstone size, gemstone origin, carat weight, precious-metal type, setting, band dimensions, construction or decorative details.
- If a specified gemstone, metal or other component is unavailable, the Promoter may propose a substitute of the same or greater value. Any substitution will be made in accordance with applicable law and, where required, with the winner’s written agreement.
- If the winner refuses reasonable modifications required to make the design safe, lawful, non-infringing, manufacturable or capable of completion within the maximum prize value, the winner will be taken to have declined the prize.
- The Promoter will use reasonable endeavours to complete and transfer the prize to the winner within 28 days after the draw, as required by Victorian trade-promotion requirements.
- The winner acknowledges that delays caused by their failure to provide measurements, decisions, approvals or other required information may affect the production and delivery date.
- The Promoter will advise the winner of any production delay caused by circumstances outside the Promoter’s reasonable control and will complete the ring as soon as reasonably practicable, subject to applicable law.
- The prize includes either insured delivery to one Victorian residential address or collection from Hammerton Jewellers at 55 Langtree Mall, Mildura VIC 3500, as agreed between the Promoter and winner.
- Travel, accommodation and any other incidental costs associated with attending consultations or collecting the prize are not included.
- The winner is responsible for confirming their ring size before manufacture. Resizing requested because the winner supplied or approved an incorrect size may incur a charge, subject to the Australian Consumer Law.
- The completed ring will be subject to the Promoter’s ordinarily applicable product guarantees, jewellery-care requirements and after-sales policies, together with all rights that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
10. Intellectual property
- Entrants retain ownership of any copyright they hold in their entries.
- By entering, each entrant grants the Promoter a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to reproduce, store and communicate their entry for the purposes of:
a. administering the competition;
b. verifying entries;
c. conducting the prize draw;
d. announcing and promoting the competition and its outcome; and
e. displaying the entry on the Promoter’s website, social-media accounts and competition-related promotional material.
- For entrants who are not selected as the winner, the promotional component of this licence continues for 12 months after the competition closes. Record-keeping and legal-compliance uses may continue for as long as reasonably necessary.
- The winner additionally grants the Promoter a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to:
a. adapt and refine the winning entry;
b. prepare technical drawings, renderings and derivative designs;
c. manufacture the prize;
d. photograph or film the design process and completed ring; and
e. use that material to promote the competition and the Promoter.
- To the extent permitted by law, each entrant consents to the Promoter cropping, formatting, editing or adapting their submitted material for the permitted purposes, provided the Promoter does not materially misrepresent the entrant or their entry.
- The winner acknowledges that general jewellery elements—including gemstone shapes, settings, bands, motifs and combinations of common design features—may resemble existing or future jewellery.
- Nothing in these Terms and Conditions prevents the Promoter from independently designing, manufacturing or selling jewellery using similar ideas, styles or unprotected design elements.
- Entrants must not knowingly include confidential information belonging to another person in their entry.
11. Publicity
- The winner agrees that the Promoter may publish their name, suburb, entry, approved photographs of the completed ring and comments voluntarily supplied about the competition for reasonable promotional purposes.
- Any use of the winner’s image, voice or personal story beyond material voluntarily submitted with the entry will be subject to the winner’s further consent.
- No additional fee or compensation is payable for the uses authorised by these Terms and Conditions.
12. Privacy
- The Promoter will collect and use entrants’ personal information to:
a. receive and validate entries;
b. administer the competition and conduct the random draw;
c. verify eligibility;
d. contact and announce the winner;
e. design, manufacture and deliver the prize;
f. exercise the rights described in these Terms and Conditions; and
g. comply with legal and record-keeping obligations.
- The Promoter may disclose personal information to service providers assisting with website hosting, competition administration, communications, professional advice, manufacturing and delivery, and where disclosure is required by law.
- Personal information will otherwise be handled in accordance with the Promoter’s privacy policy, available at www.hammertons.com.au/policies/privacy-policy
- Entrants may request access to or correction of their personal information, or make a privacy enquiry, by contacting the Promoter using the contact details in clause 2.
- Entry is conditional on providing the information needed to administer the competition. If that information is not provided, the Promoter may be unable to accept the entry or award the prize.
- Entry into the competition does not, by itself, constitute consent to receive unrelated direct marketing.
- Any direct-marketing consent must be obtained separately. An entrant may withdraw that consent in accordance with the Promoter’s privacy policy and applicable law without affecting their competition entry.
- The Promoter will not use entrants’ information for purposes other than those disclosed in these Terms and Conditions, the entry form and any separately accepted marketing consent.
13. Technical problems and disqualification
- The Promoter is not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected, incomplete or not received because of a technical failure, network interruption, incompatible system or circumstance outside the Promoter’s reasonable control.
- The Promoter may disqualify an entrant who:
a. tampers with the entry or draw process;
b. uses automated entry software;
c. submits false or misleading information;
d. attempts to obtain an unfair advantage;
e. acts fraudulently;
f. disrupts the competition; or
g. engages in conduct reasonably likely to damage the fair operation of the competition or the Promoter’s reputation.
- Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter’s reasonable discretion where doing so does not undermine the fair operation of the competition or give an entrant an unfair advantage.
14. Changes, suspension and cancellation
- If the competition cannot proceed as reasonably anticipated because of fraud, technical failure, unlawful interference, supply interruption or another event outside the Promoter’s reasonable control, the Promoter may modify, suspend, postpone or cancel the competition, subject to applicable law and any direction from a regulatory authority.
- Any material change will be published on the competition webpage as soon as reasonably practicable.
- The Promoter will not change the competition in a way that unfairly disadvantages entrants who have already entered, except where reasonably necessary to address circumstances outside its control or comply with the law.
- If a prize substitution becomes necessary, a substituted prize will be of the same or greater value and will be provided only in accordance with applicable law, including obtaining the winner’s written agreement where required.
15. Liability and consumer rights
- Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy conferred by the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
- Subject to clause 99, the Promoter is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the competition or the acceptance or use of the prize, except to the extent the loss was caused by the Promoter’s negligence, fraud or wilful misconduct.
- To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter’s liability for breach of a condition, warranty or guarantee that may lawfully be limited is limited, at the Promoter’s option, to supplying the relevant goods or services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again.
- The Promoter is not responsible for any tax consequences arising from acceptance of the prize. The winner should obtain independent advice if concerned about their individual circumstances.
16. Social-media disclaimer
- If the competition is promoted through Facebook, Instagram or another social-media platform, entrants acknowledge that the competition is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with that platform.
- Entrants release the relevant social-media platforms from claims arising in connection with the competition to the extent permitted by law.

- Entrants submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and courts entitled to hear appeals from those courts.
- If these Terms and Conditions are inconsistent with other competition advertising, these Terms and Conditions prevail to the extent of the inconsistency.
